Mixed messages from vehicle sales
… but consumers know what body shapes they want
In this issue of Auto Insights we see that while September fell short of expectations, new vehicle sales in 2023 are ahead of 2019 volumes, indicating that the market is running slightly ahead of pre-Covid levels. But while the market battles tough economic conditions, consumers are making it clear which body shapes they want. New vehicle sales go into September reverse
New vehicle sales in September 2023 were 4.7% down on September 2022, according to naamsa, although importantly overall sales for the first nine months of 2023 were 2.5% higher than the previous year – and 16.2% above sales for the same period in 2021.
