Role overview/purpose

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Product Owner to lead our digital product commercial initiatives and drive the success of our campaigns and products . The ideal candidate will have strong digital marketing expertise, digital campaign management experience, and commercialisation experience. This role demands a digitally savvy individual with the ability to innovate, strategize, execute and commercialise impactful marketing campaigns that achieve business objectives.


Qualification

  • Matric
  • BCom Marketing or related qualification
  • Fundamentals of Digital Marketing (advantageous)

Experience

  • 5 year experience in digital marketing
  • 3 year experience in social media and content management
  • 1 year experience in data analysis and analytics
  • Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) exposure
  • Good understanding of digital trends (digitally savvy)
  • 3 years of PL responsibility

Technical Skills Required

Technical Skills:

  • SEO and SEM: Deep understanding of search engine optimisation (SEO) and search engine marketing (SEM) techniques to increase visibility and drive traffic.
  • Web Development Basics: Familiarity with the basics of web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to effectively collaborate with developers and make informed decisions regarding website and landing page design.
  • Marketing Automation: Proficiency in using marketing automation tools to streamline marketing processes, personalise customer interactions, and measure the effectiveness of campaigns.

Digital Tools and Platforms:

  • CMS Management: Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) for website content creation and management.
  • CRM Software: Knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM) software to manage customer data and automate marketing communications.
  • Digital Advertising Platforms: Familiarity with digital advertising platforms (Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager) for creating and optimising ad campaigns.
  • Social media: Solid understanding of social media platforms in order to manage and execute on a strategic social media plan to enhance brand awareness, engagement and lead generation.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Digital Marketing Campaigns: Experience in planning, executing, and optimising digital marketing campaigns across various channels (e.g., social media, email marketing, SEO, PPC) to drive brand awareness, engagement, and conversions.
  2. Content Strategy and Management: Experience in developing and implementing content strategies that align with business goals, as well as managing content creation, distribution, and performance analysis.
  3. User Experience (UX): Hands-on experience with UX design principles, user research, and usability testing to enhance website and app interfaces for improved user satisfaction and conversion rates.
  4. Data Analysis and Analytics: Proficiency in using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Power BI) to track campaign performance, user behaviour, and conversion data, and the ability to translate data insights into actionable marketing strategies.
  5. Customer Relationship Management (CRM): Experience with CRM software to manage customer data, automate marketing efforts, personalise customer communications, and analyse customer interactions and data.
  6. Social Media Management: Oversee content creation, scheduling, and analytics across key platforms. Stay updated on trends, engage with the community, and optimize performance to align with marketing goals. Experience with paid campaigns and influencer partnerships is a plus.
  7. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM): Knowledge of SEO and SEM strategies to improve website visibility, drive organic traffic, and manage paid search campaigns.
  8. Project Management: Strong project management skills, including experience with project management to oversee digital projects from conception to completion.
  9. Digital Trends and Technologies: A track record of staying up to date with the latest digital marketing trends, tools, and technologies, and the ability to apply these innovations to drive marketing success.
  10. P&L Management: Experience in revenue generation, budget planning and allocation for digital marketing initiatives, including monitoring spending and optimising for cost-effectiveness and ROI.
  11. Regulatory Compliance: Understanding of legal and regulatory considerations in digital marketing, such as data protection laws (GDPR, CCPA) and advertising standards, to ensure compliance in marketing practices.
  12. Brand Management: Experience in managing and evolving a brand's digital presence, ensuring consistency across all digital touchpoints, and aligning digital marketing efforts with the overall brand strategy.
  13. Online Sales Strategy: Experience with e-commerce platforms, online sales strategies, and conversion rate optimisation is highly beneficial.
