Data security is not just a necessity, but critical to our operations at Lightstone. As a leading provider of data, analytics, and systems on automotive assets, we take every step to safeguard the unique and proprietary datasets that empower our sophisticated analytics and spatial models.
Ensuring data security and privacy
Data security at Lightstone begins with meticulous planning and implementing robust procedures. Our best practices are designed to protect and maintain the integrity of our data and systems, and we define and implement rigorous procedures for the backup and restoration of systems, data, and documentation in line with our business requirements and continuity plan. This includes:
- Frequent backups: backups of the full environment are conducted regularly.
- Secure storage: copies of full backups are transferred to secure locations.
- Regular testing: restoration of files and folders is tested on a regular basis.
- Periodic recovery testing: we periodically test our recovery processes to ensure reliability.
Our promise
Handling sensitive data is a significant responsibility, and at Lightstone, we have established stringent procedures to protect it:
- Employee contracts: all employees sign contracts that include data privacy clauses to ensure awareness and compliance.
- Departing staff protocols: employees returning equipment and signing documents affirming they have not retained any confidential data.
- Audit trails: we maintain audit trails of successful logins and changes to all systems, reviewing and reporting these logs regularly.
- Encryption: no confidential data is stored in non-encrypted areas of hard drives.
- Regular updates: workstations and server anti-virus software, along with operating system security and vulnerability updates, are regularly updated to minimise risks of intrusion.
What we require from our users
To maintain the integrity and security of the data we provide, we expect our users to adhere to the following contractual requirements:
- Confidentiality commitment: users must hold data in the strictest confidence, using it solely for the purposes stated in signed agreements.
- Security measures: users should take reasonable steps to protect confidential data, like the measures they take to protect their own.
- Access control: ensure that only subscribed users with unique login credentials use the data, and that it is not sold or shared with unauthorised parties.
- Prohibited actions: users must not copy, reproduce, exploit, or distribute confidential data in any way that compromises Lightstone’s interests or those of our data partners.
- Employee awareness: users must ensure that their employees who access Lightstone’s data are aware of its confidentiality.
- Immediate notification: users are required to notify Lightstone immediately upon discovering any unauthorised use or disclosure of confidential data.
By adhering to these practices and principles, Lightstone ensures that our clients can trust us with their most sensitive data, allowing us to deliver exceptional data and analytics solutions across various industries.
